Enjoy the rich flavour of Rooibos Tea, grown on the mountains in Agter Pakhuis

All we need to say about the tea is – you can taste the difference.  The tea from this area has a distinctive flavour, due to the unique mountain microclimate.  This “Stokkies” tea is harvested, fermented and dried in the Clanwilliam area and hand sifted, so it is not too fine, and has that beautiful rich red colour.  Unlike delicate black or green teas, “Stokkies” tea thrives under high heat. Traditionally, it is boiled directly in a pot on the stove to extract its full depth, making a perfect concentrate for rich lattes, iced teas, or “red espresso” drinks.

Once brewed, the remaining stokkies can be mixed into garden soil or compost to fertilize acid-loving plants and improve soil structure, since spent rooibos tea leaves and twigs are rich in nitrogen.
